The Dog Who Chose Me

...and the Dream That Finally Came True

Long before I became a children's book author, I fell in love with reading. When life brought things I couldn't control, books gave me somewhere to escape, and their characters came alive. I even started writing a book in high school, but I never believed it was good enough.

Then, on an extremely hot day, a pit bull approached me on a walk. I was apprehensive at first because of the stigma surrounding the breed, but he wouldn't leave me alone. I told him that if he waited outside the store, I'd bring him water and something to eat.

When I came out, there he was, sitting and waiting. I became his foster mom while looking for his forever family. As it turned out, he had already chosen one. I'm a very happy foster fail.

That dog is Biscuit, and sharing him with the world through stories brought my long-held writing dream to life. His adventures celebrate kindness, faith, laughter, and the love that can change a life.
